Poison Prevention Week: March 19-25, 2023
For Poison Prevention Week (PPW) this year, the Atlantic Canada Poison Centre and Child Safety Link (CSL) would like to remind everyone that they can reduce the likelihood of being poisoned at home. The goal of this year’s campaign theme, Safe Storage Safe Environment, is to educate parents and caregivers about how they can avoid carbon monoxide and other toxic fume exposures at home, and to provide safe storage tips for the common household chemicals.
CSL and the Atlantic Canada Poison Centre have released several new resources related to this years theme, listed as follows (and under Related Documents on the righthand column of this page):

The Atlantic Canada Poison Centre is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as a confidential source of information on poisons and poison exposures. The staff at the Poison Centre includes nurses and pharmacists, supported by on-call physicians, who are specialists in poison information, including medication and non-medication related inquiries. The Poison Centre provides service for all ages (adults and children). In NS, PEI, NB and NL, call 1-844-POISONX (1-844-764-7669).
Child Safety Link (CSL) is the children’s injury prevention program of IWK Health.
