Tips for Installing Your Car Seat
Rear-facing:
- Install your car seat in the back seat of your car.
- Avoid installing a rear-facing car seat in front of an arm rest that folds down.
- It is never safe to put a rear-facing car seat in a front seat with an active air bag.
- Your rear-facing car seat will recline. Check your instructions on how you can adjust your car seat base to recline. It is okay that toddlers sit more upright and are not reclined to 45 degrees.
Forward Facing:
- The seat will not be in the reclined position, it will be upright.
- The car seat’s tether strap must be attached to your car’s tether bolt. Your car owner’s manual will tell you where the bolts are located in your vehicle. If you do not have a tether bolt in your car, you need to have one installed by your car’s dealership.
