About Child Safety Link

What is Child Safety Link?

Child Safety Link (CSL) is an injury prevention program at IWK Health dedicated to reducing the incidence and severity of unintentional injury to children and youth in the Maritimes. CSL is committed to working with community organizations, governments and other partners to ensure children are as safe as necessary at home, on the road and at play.  The team does this through capacity building & partnerships; communication and public relations; advocacy and healthy public policy; and research and evaluation.

Our Mission:

To reduce the incidence and severity of injury to children and youth in the Maritimes.

Our Vision:

The Maritimes are a safe community where children and youth can grow to reach their full potential.

About this Website

With so much information available on the Internet, it can be hard for parents and caregivers to identify the best source for the latest information on how to keep their children safe from injury. Child Safety Link is a reliable Canadian source for a wide variety of children’s injury prevention issues.  The information we offer is evidence-based, and is specific to statistics, laws and regulations in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. If we do not have the answer, we can usually point you to the expert who does.

To stay connected with CSL’s daily injury prevention tips and trends, you can follow us on social media by joining our growing online community on Facebook and Twitter.

About CSL’s Staff & Advisory Council

Child Safety Link’s staff is made up of a small team of health promotion and communication professionals. The organization is guided by the CSL Advisory Council, made up of volunteers from Maritime injury prevention, government and community services sectors.
