Child Passenger Safety for Health Centres and Health Care Personnel

Child Safety Link is a program of the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, NS – where approximately 5000 babies are born every year and numerous outpatient visits and hospital stays are experienced by children and youth from across the Maritimes.

If you work with a Health Care facility and would like to help children travel home safely, contact Child Safety Link at 1-866-288-1388 (toll free in the Maritimes) for more information.

Infant Car Seat Education

When newborns are discharged from the Health Centre, part of planning to send them home includes a discussion of how to get there safely.  This education is protected by the IWK Car Seat Education Policy.  Please contact us if you would like to have access to the training resources for nurses in support of this policy.
